Speech and Drama with Kate Crowther

Hi everyone. I am so excited to be joining the innovative, creative and talented team that makes La Muse!
I am a Registered Primary School Teacher and I love bring music and drama alive into the classroom. I have studied Speech and Drama since I was 6 years old and have been a part of the Southland Competitions for many years in both singing and speech.
Musical Theatre has always been a passion. I have a Trinity College of London ATCL in Musical Theatre and I have a Trinity College of London, Performance Certificate in Speech and Drama. I have performed in Invercargill Musical Theatre Company shows such as ‘West End to Broadway 1 and 2’, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and many Theatre Restaurants. In 2010 I played Cossette in the Gore Operatic Show, Les Miserable, and in 2005 I played Snow White in the Gore Operatic Societies production ‘Snow White’. I have also enjoyed directing shows such as Salford School’s production of “Seussical” in 2010 and the Gore Theatre Restaurant in 2005. Part of my roll at Salford School is coordinating the Arts and directing the choir. I have organised school wide Music festivals and concerts. Music and Drama is a huge part of my life. I believe in making the Arts come alive and making learning fun and engaging so children want to take risks and reach their full potential having a lot of laughs along the way!
